How to Use a High Bay Sensor to Control LED High Bay Lights

High Bay Sensor is a device that is mounted to the ceiling and controls a lighting fixture by motion detection. It helps in reducing energy consumption and also saves time as it avoids turning on and off the lights frequently.

It operates automatically until a living thing (Human or animal) passes below its detection range. Once it stops sensing the motion, the lights turn off after a predetermined amount of time.

Energy Savings

Using motion sensors on LED high bay lights is an efficient way to save energy and money in commercial and industrial settings. These lights turn on only when someone enters the area, and then they automatically shut off after a certain period of time. The amount of energy that is used to run these lights is significantly reduced, helping businesses to save on energy costs and electricity bills.

In addition, these sensors can help reduce the need for manual switching. Leaving lights on for long periods of time can waste energy, and it can also shorten the lifespan of some light sources. Fortunately, this is not an issue for LED lights, since the technology takes very little time to reach full brightness once it is triggered by a sensor.

Moreover, the sensors can be configured to work with different lighting systems and varying applications. For example, some models can be wired to control 0-10 VDC LED drivers and dimming ballasts, while others are capable of controlling a variety of lighting fixtures through an integrated system. This makes them an ideal choice for facility managers who want to maximize energy efficiency and sustainability goals.

Safety

A high bay light with a motion sensor is ideal for industrial and commercial settings because it increases safety by turning on the lights only when there’s activity in the area. This reduces the risk of employees walking into stationary objects or tripping over gear and equipment, and it can also act as a deterrent for potential intruders.

Cost Savings

Motion sensors allow for energy savings by automatically turning on and Intelligent power supply off the lights. This reduces electricity bills and saves businesses money on maintenance costs. Moreover, the sensors can also help reduce employee labor costs by eliminating the need for them to manually turn on and off the lights.

Improved Convenience

Many high bay lights with motion sensors are equipped with a timer function that allows them to remain on for a certain period of time after the last detected movement. This feature is very convenient for large indoor spaces, such as warehouses and distribution centers, because it can help prevent wasteful energy consumption and save on operating costs.

The Keystone KTS-PIR2-UV-KO is a plug and play LED high bay motion sensor that can be attached directly to compatible fixtures. This sensor uses passive infrared technology to detect motion and daylight and offers a maximum detection area of 35ft. Users can adjust the sensor’s sensitivity, time delay and daylighting settings remotely using a smartphone app.

Environmentally Friendly

High bay lights with motion sensors are more environmentally friendly than other lighting solutions. When the light detects a movement, it turns on and stays on until there is no more motion in the area. This helps businesses to save energy and it also reduces their carbon footprint.

In addition, LED lights have a longer lifespan than other lighting solutions and this means that they need to be replaced less often. This will also help to reduce the amount of waste that is produced.

Enhanced Convenience

LED lights with a motion sensor provide enhanced convenience because they eliminate the need to manually turn on and off the lights. This helps businesses to focus on their work and ensures that the lights are only on when they are needed.

The ability to control the lights with a motion sensor is also helpful in warehouses and other environments with high ceilings. This is because the motion will be detected from a much greater distance than it would be with a wall-mounted sensor.

With the many benefits offered by High Bay Sensors, it is no wonder that more and more businesses are turning to them to improve their efficiency and profitability. ADM stocks a wide range of Hytronik occupancy and motion sensors for LED high bay lights so that businesses can easily implement and optimize their intelligent lighting system.

Easy Installation

Adding a sensor to your fixture is an easy way to save energy. It will allow the light to only be on when there High Bay Sensor are occupants or illumination is needed, so it will save money by not continuously running. Most high bay fixtures come with a sensor as part of the fixture, but you can also easily add a sensor to an existing fixture by following some basic wiring tips.

The HB3x0B-Lx PIR occupancy sensors mount directly to an industrial luminaire or electrical junction box and provide a self-contained sensor and relay with a single mounting point. The power module has a built in photocell and daylight sensing to automatically control 0-10 VDC LED drivers or dimming ballasts. The sensor can be adjusted using the SETUP and CALIBRATION knobs to optimize performance in a specific application.

The HB3x0B-Lx features interchangeable lens trim rings that can be changed to switch between a 360 degree High Bay pattern or aisle pattern with the included aisle mask. Orient the lens towards the area to be monitored (field of view). Mount the sensor in a 1/2 inch knockout hole located on the end of the luminaire body or an electrical junction box. The sensor has a snap feature to quickly install into round holes and is keyed for installation in double-D holes to prevent rotation after installation. Once the sensor is installed, reconnect power at the circuit breaker or fuse.
